Who We Are
Our mission is to empower families, who are experiencing housing instability or homelessness, to build a sustainable foundation of independence through a continuum of support services.
When Family Promise of Butler County began, it was in response to a problem of family homelessness in Butler County, where families had few places to turn for help. Traditional shelters separate families and provide little, to no support. Family Promise is a national movement with over 200 affiliates, in 43 states, involving more than 200,000 volunteers. But the core of what we do is right here in Butler County—partnering within the community to change lives.
The foundation of our program are the over 200 volunteers who provide meals, shelter, mentoring, and hope to those experiencing homelessness. Our intensive supportive services assist families in making the necessary changes in order to get back on their feet again.
Family Promise is the leading national nonprofit addressing the issue of family homelessness. Family Promise of Butler County joined this movement in 2016. This map charts the growth of Family Promise since its founding.
